Sorry for not posting sooner. The 5 am's are kicking my but.

Friday: We did rather well boating 16 fish at the 29/17 Mark. 44-46 fow @ 2.6 MPH. Fish came in flurries of 2-4 fish then nothing. Tried going over same waypoints after a good run...sometimes it worked sometimes it didn't. DBL Orange Crush and Dirty Whiteboy did well. Other flavors worked but not consistent. (15 out of the 16 eyes came on big stingers) Spoon location was at 25-35 fow. Sheephead, whitebass kept us busy in between eyes, The bite shut down at 1 pm.

Saturday: We returned to the same area with the same program and only boated 4 eyes. Had to work for them. I caught my first eye ever on an off shore board with jet and big spoon (confusion). Those boards are a pain in the arse!!! It came off a 40 jet 140 back and the board was another 100' out from the boat. Did I mention I don't like jets either!! The other 3 eyes were caught on dipsy program very deep nearly ticking the bottom. Here's a few shots from Friday. Took 2 buddies and 3 rookies.

Arden's first eye.

You might have been under the more aggresive fish. You might not mark them but most of my fish have been taken in the top 10-15 fow, even on bright hot days.Run 1 jet or crankbait or whatever up high when the marked fish don't attack. You might be surprized.Just a thought.Good luck,Mike

hey Harle96,

You might change your mind about those boards if you have one of those days where they seem to catch most or all of the fish. They can be a thing of beauty. They have a lot of advantages if you get used to them. I use braided line and the highest tension releases and i set the clicker on the reel with the drag set so a bite will cause it to click. I can almost always tell even a light bite from a small fish that way- thing of beauty.

Best of luck- pik-n-fin
