Don't think it opens until May but I may be wrong.

Website says opening April for Mentor and Warren.

 

A family member drove by the Niles store over the weekend and said the parking lot was full with vehicles.....hiring process? training new employees? must be getting close.

I did notice at the Overtons.com boating site Gander Outdoors being listed as an affiliate, so probably can expect more boating and watersports equipment being offered. Will wait and see what kind of fishing, hunting departments they offer.

depending on what day of the week it is or what time of the day the it is the customers cars for the steak house north of the gander store takes up about 1/3 of the gander parking lot. (niles store)

 

Or too many freaking clothes....

 

Unfortunately if they want to stay in business that's where the profit is. You can't stay in business only selling an $8 lure that cost the retailer $6, and that doesn't include all the other overhead.

 

Soft opening for Warren store will be around April 4th, Mentor around April 28th. I've been working and traveling for the company since early February. From the stores I've visited that are already open (Indianapolis and Minneapolis), fishing and Marine are BIG. Selections and assortments are tailored to the region. Prices are much better than Gander Mountain as well. Same goes for guns and ammo. Clothing is barely half what it was.

 

Yea I think they wised up with key locations this time around. Supply and demand.

 

Any news abt Canton location?

 

The only 2 stores reopening in Ohio are Mentor and Niles.
