Do you ever do well when the wind is out of the east?

The old saying is certainly true in my world.....when the wind is out of the east the fish bite the least, when the wind is out of the west the fish bite the best.

Walleye seem to be more affected by east winds than perch but I have found an east wind means tough fishing. The only decent walleye spot I have found is in the bay behind Kelley's Island. I don't know why but on an east wind the walleye seem to congregate in the bay.

Does anyone have any east wind fishing spots or techniques? Does anyone know why an east wind makes the fishing so much harder?

east winds are associated with storms or cold fronts, I've done very well on nice sunny days with the winds out of the east and have had some not so good days

I've done good with e winds as long as it wasn't so strong it blew me off the water. but I do love a sw wind.

Cold front stormy conditions presentations are low and slow. Bouncers and meat are #1, but harnesses behind Dipsys will work as well, and the deeper the fish the less effect the weather has on them.

I hate East winds. And it usually = rough lake in the Geneva-Bula-Conny area.

In general they are tougher bite. I try not to let that thought effect the effort we put into trying to catch fish. Have had some banner days on an east wind. It's not set in stone. I generally bank on west wind overcast days being an awesome bite, but that doesn't always happen either.
