Let's see....the purpose of this forum and the guidelines...... details of when, where and how the fish were caught.....DUH. Yeah, your post really helped us.
mirage, lately a few members here who "own" this spot have been upset that we are ruining it and everyone knows where we are at.....thank you for proving that they are wrong.

Donkey--congrats on a job well done bud. keep plucking away, theres still a few days left in the derby. I will be back down/up/over/in that same area friday hoping to hang an upgrade for myself. maybe i will see you there! :T

keep the posts coming bud, i know i enjoy reading them. The pot is getting deeeeeep, we may need a thicker spoon to stir it with for sure.

There is nothing in the "guidelines" that says users have to divulge their details. And especially not when they are competing in a derby or tourney.;) Yes we all like when details are given but it is not a must.

Those are some nice looking fish once again Donkey.

Perhaps you do not log on often enough to see that a few dollars up for grabs have taken away most of the 'helpful information' that was once found on the Lake Erie forum. From reading some other recent posts it even seems to have caused some genuine hard feelings among friends.

Isn't it grand when a relaxing pastime gets some $$ attached to it??:(

Tried to stay away but mirage and those that share his opinion are right in my opinion. It seems like you think you are the only one who catches fish in shallow off CLE and those blacked out photos are stupid. Im going this afternoon and you guys can have some coordinates when I get back. Dont normally do that but to make a point i am going to..

I always read the Prancing Pony, er, the Dancing Donkeys posts for amusement purposes. Dont stop Donkey!

Whenever I see a post for a hot spot, I stay the heck away from that area. It results in a crowd every time. The internet is the primary reason I gave up waterfowling, which used to be my primary passion. Every time a duck was killed, the whole state would arrive there the next day.

I don't blame the Donkey for not wanting every boat on the south shore trolling in his wake!

Though I heard he was just outside of Erie, PA in 71 FOW....

Nice job donkey!

After taking a limit of nice perch yesterday from 3-5pm (WW ->40FOW), I drifted a chicken wing harness off the bradstreet landing and took a nice walleye in 32. I guess I get around too much. Noticed a lot of high marks and wondered if maybe I should be running shallow baits high in the column now?

Also, I noticed alot of guys don't take perch in the spring. Is that to avoid getting milted? When are they done spawning? I just don't want to mess up such an incredible resource...

guys, i will say this and drop it. As most of you know, theres a tournament and a derby going on now in the area where a nice chunk of change is up for grabs. i very rarely see reports from people who are actively engaged any tournament or prefishing for an event untill after its over.

Take Gary (blue dolphin), and also reel naughty for example, when a tournament is coming up and they are out prefishing, reports do not get posted and rightfully so, everyone is trying to keep their pod of fish to themselves for tournament day and you cant blame them. I can honestly say that after most big tournaments, 90% of the guys on this site will tell you what worked when and where for them during the week leading up to the tournament.

The reason that i post pictures when i am fishing in the derby is for this, i am NOT trying to brag, or rub it in anyone's face- trust me i am not like that. The reason i do this is to simply let people know that there are fish being caught in the general, and with a little time on the water and luck they can catch them too.

Myself and donkey and ALOT of other guys on this site have spent over 150 hours on the water so far for this derby alone trying to dial these fish in. More times than not, we go home scratching our heads and the fish win. Somedays, we do good and post pictures just to give everyone else the general info that the walleye may be turning on and it may be worth a shot to try.

To many people on this site want to be spoon fed information, thats fine. I personally feel alot better at the end of a good day knowing that i caught those fish on my own. I do not ask for information often, i can count one time last year when i asked someone for advice.

Also, you guys got to understand. People on this site have a "group" of friends they trust, work with, and share information with. The fish that i caught the other day on my boat were from a spot that was GIVEN to me. I figured it would be the right thing to keep this person's spot to myself since it was not my area to give away in the first place, and obviously it backfired. I still feel i did the right thing, and would do it again in a minute.

Seriously guys, check my reports from east of cleveland within the last two years. I bet i have more geneva/ashtabula reports in detail that most of you guys have in posts. When i am out fun fishing, i always give the information out and im sure people can vouch for that. When money is on the line, its a different ballgame.

I will be out tomorrow in the same area that has been hot, if i do good- i will post more pictures for all of you to enjoy. Dont worry guys, ill be in Geneva next week, ill have the spoons ready to feed with you with info.

Mirage and Honey must not frequent this site much. If they did they would see all the information, tips, and knowlege George, Donkey, Het, Ezbite, and plenty of others have given many newbies. If there wasn't a derby going on they would be the first to give some helpful information. Keep the photos coming guys (gets me thru the work day) and keep reeling in those pigs.

Nice fish gentlemen! I was also wondering where the fishing report info has been lately. A tourny is enough said. I appreciate any information that is provided to help me drop down a notch on the very high learning curve.

I got nothing on my last trip out of Vermillion. Trolled cranks and harnesses deep/shallow, fast/slow, etc. That's fishing. Perch weren't obliging either. Oh well. Brought home some nice shiners to freeze. Always a nice day to fish, breath fresh air, and enjoy the lake.

Ok, with a tournament I understand about not posting the spot or potentially even the methods but that should be stated. Also, just a little more info would have been enough. I'm sure the additional information you could have provided wouldn't be enough to seriously aid someone in the tournament.

I think your expectations are to high, you should not expect any info. and if you get some great, if you give some great. This site is about share a fishing experience wether it be pictures, info.,or just time with friends. This is the second time I've seen this. It's rediculous to say anything about info. not being shared. I've learned alot with all the info. I've read on here.

DUDE.....You been a member since July 2004 and have 46 posts!! Doesn't look like you've been doing too much sharing!

Donkey and Hippy....NICE COOLER FULL!!!!! I think I know in general where your "haunt" is and I can't pull fish like that... No skill here!!!

I can see from the 47 posts since 2004 you have been quite the blabbermouth. Seriously, all you need to do is a little research... (I could be mistaken, but Donkey ONLY uses stingers and he's been polishing them all winter long)

You have any great coordinates you want to share??? Have you invited anyone out to get advice or PM'd anyone to ask for a little extra help so they know who you are? Attended any seminars to meet other members and share good info? The information is here if you just take the time to find it.

I'm not trying to slam you, but this forum is for all of us --- and it has a little deserved bragging and a lot of great info on technique, honey holes and fun trips out.... sometimes a hyjack on a thread to get some funny smackers in.... And yes, it gets frustrating watching the dream team pull in all of the fish out of the lake when you're NOT on them. That's why it's a skunk.

Just keep coming back and keep posting; your opinion matters and you have a right to ask - that's what makes this a great forum. You will get what you need from this group. But understand that with that tone, you're gonna get skunked again.

That was possibly a silliest comment I have ever seen on this site. As previously stated there are many guys (almost all) willing to help you get fish. His patterns have been well stated in the past. Should we tow your boat to the water and put it in too. Not trying top be a smart a$$ but hunting and fishing are supposed to be learned by the person doing it via scouting and countless hours in the field or lake.
So here you go been out on near shore fishing expeditions approx 20 times this year already, spending money that with the economy the way it is I don't have, and have caught 12 fish almost all of them at a different spot or different program than the others (and found the spots myself, but they are areas that have been posted about countless times). The best producer has been harnesses pulled at 1.5- 1.8 mph in 41 ft of water or shallower. Colors have been pink/white/orange and perch. All fish have been caught in the top 15 ft of water and at various times from 2:00pm to 2:30 am with most for me having been caught prior to sundown. I tie my harnesses myself and they about 6 ft in length. Have used 1 oz and 2 oz weights behind inline boards with lead lengths from 5 to 40 ft. Hope this helps, oh yeah my GPS is truthfully broke and dont have numbers but if you start at the gold coast (previous Donkey post) and come east to Bratenhal (previous post from Five C's), and put time in you will catch fish.
Good luck
Chris

Thank you for reminding me why it is best not to identify yourself when posting on a public forum. As I have said before this forum is a cyberworld of which the Donkey is an imaginary character.I did not come here to be your friend or advisor. The Donkey is only here to amuse you and show you what the area around Cleveland has to offer in the way of fishing. Please do not try to control me or tell me how to run my life.I realize some of you are 50%ers and try to allow for that.
Some of the pics that I post are meant to get a rise out of you:DSome are pure bragging. But for the most part they are a sharing of my life.
If you want to be Mr. Hate I will put you in touch with the Puppet Master.;)
That said ;Here are a couple of photos from today.I was able to see the Crib the whole time that I fished.:T
