My daughters boyfriend caught this today 55 lbs. and 49 inches. He said it took him a long time to get it in. He was shore fishing.
No..actually he weighed n measured it and released it. Them things can last out of the water a little longer than a normal fish, he said it swam away pretty good. So hopefully it made it.lol,what did he do w/it? garden fertilizer?i can smell it from here

1501:31-13-08 [Effective until 3/1/2012] Fish daily bag limits: protected species.
(A) Throughout the state it shall be unlawful for any person to take or possess more than six saugeyes, six sauger, or six walleyes, singly or in the aggregate in any one day while on of any stream, river or other body of water where fishing therein requires the licenses set forth in section 1533.32 of the Revised Code; excepting therefrom the lake Erie sport fishing district in accordance with rule 1501:31-13-14 of the Administrative Code. Provided further, it shall be unlawful for any person to take or possess more than ten saugeyes, ten walleyes, or ten sauger singly or in the aggregate in the Ohio river zone in accordance with the rule 1501:31-13-11 of the Administrative Code.
(B) It shall be unlawful for any person to take or possess more than: one muskellunge, or one tiger muskellunge, singly or in the aggregate; or five black bass, including smallmouth, largemouth, or Kentucky spotted bass, singly or in the aggregate in any one day statewide, except in the Ohio River zone and Pymatuning lake in accordance with rule 1501:31-13-11 and paragraph (Q) of rule 1501:31-13-07 of the Administrative Code.
(C) The possession limits set forth in paragraphs (A), (B) and (L) of this rule shall not apply to such fish when transported on a commercial ferry boat in lake Erie.
(D) It shall be unlawful for any person to take or possess blue pike or sturgeon from lake Erie or any of its tributaries.
(E) It shall be unlawful for any person to take or possess white amur or grass carp (Ctenopharyngodon idella) from waters owned, leased, or controlled by the division of wildlife.

Every common carp I've caught all had "shark like" dorsal fins. Everything else though is spot on.There are a number of differences between the Grass Carp and your
regular,run of the mill Common Carp.Most notable are the lack of barbels,
the tough,upward shaped mouth and the shark-like dorsal fin of the Grass
Carp.....Not to mention that Grassies can potentially grow 2,even 3 times
as large as the average Common Carp!...Documented as much as 150lbs in
native lands!Routinely taken by bow around the US at 70-80lb+!
