I have been thinking of why we don't see any ice fishermen on the cedar point - coal docks side of the sandusky bay. One would think the walleye staging to make the run up the sandusky river would be hanging out there. They pass through there after the spawn, they have to go through there to get to the river, so what gives? I have heard that 50 some years ago the bay would be full of ice shanties, why not now? I have been wanting to venture out and give it a go, but wanted to get some thoughts from some of the more knowledgable experienced erie ice fishermen.

Use to do very well for perch just off the coal docks about 10 years ago . Parked at the Jackson street launch and walked out . Never did catch any walleyes though .May have to try it again this year .
