I've been watching lake temp and my prediction is 10 days. What's yours?

Being a somewhat mild winter, like last yr, I'd say it's gonna be more like the end of the 1st week of March or the 2nd wk of March....somewhere in that time frame....

Over the many years of fishing the spawning run I've found its hard to predict just when it'll kick off. I start fishing as soon as the ice is off and I can get the boat on the water. I'll fish the points and rock piles first, if no fish are found I'll move into a bit deeper water looking for them. One thing is for sure, it won't be too much longer:)

ice off and the small jacks are there.as a rule i try to be ready by the last week in march or the fist week in april.and it is hit and miss off and then on.you all have heard it should have been here last night or last weekend.if conditions are not right(water temp)the spawn will be very long and drag on over weeks like last year which makes the whole season slow with post spawn walleye turning on very slow and not all at once.this of corse is diferent on each lake .just my opion on berlin westbranch and mosqito

spring is definitely on its way id say about 2 or 3 more weeks all the fish will start coming out of hiding. if it doesnt snow anymore and the temps dont drop anymore itll be here sooner than we know it. its not always about water temperature it has alot to do with weather too. you cant catch them during the spawn anyway. crappie yes walleye no. before and after yes. just depends on the weather and water temps. could be a week could be a month or more.
