The boat ramp off christman road on the southern end of the lake can be great for really nice red ears, depending on time of year.

The guard rail along the southern end of the lake on Christman road is good too, there's an underwater channel there that runs through that section and is productive for bass and cats.

Some of the gas well peninsulas can be productive for bass, crappie, gills and even cats after dusk. (The tips of these peninsulas are fenced off... DO NOT cross these fences. It is heavily enforced by ODNR and if they catch you out there they are not sympathetic. I've never crossed one but several years ago I witnessed a guy and his son who did - ODNR fined him big and took his gear!)

The bridge at the southern end of the lake near the bait shop on the corner of Christman and Comet is decent for bass and crappie.

None of these places I've mentioned are any big secret, on any given day they get a lot of activity, but they can all be very productive when fishing from shore.

I have a few secret places I won't name here, but if you shoot me a PM I can give you a few more hints.

Just remember that anytime you shore fish, you have to be willing to go where most people wouldnt think about going.
It doesnt mean on private property.
There is a lot of fishable shoreline on Nimisila that 9 out of 10 people will not go to. Be that 1 person that sneaks down through the brush to find a log to stand on (be quiet about it) and make good casts.
Good Luck

If you look at the lake map try to find the areas that get deep quick right off shore. Like gsx said some of those places may take some walking, but it should be worth it. Just don't be the guy who is fishing off the boat dock and gets POed cause he has deal with all the boats that are there for some reason. HA! One spot that is good(and everbody knows it) for cats at night is near the powerlines on the Christman Rd side. There is alot of castable spots and always willing Channels. Get there early if you want that spot though. Good luck

On Christman rd if you head north from the south ramp you will come to a large cove on the west side of the road. I believe the parking is just past it on the east side. there are several places to access the cove. If you fish by the road at the concrete steps the water drops off quickly to about 11fow. There are some rock snags directly in front I have been told so be careful fishing bottom. You can also reach the deeper water back on the point across from th steps.
