I know Roy Landsberger caught a 13.13-pounder out of a farm pond, which still stands as the official state record. The pond has since been flooded and is now owned by the Boy Scouts of America—it's currently called "Lake Don Brown." If you're curious about more information on the record-breaking fish, check this out:

I've seen a few YouTube videos of people claiming to catch "10-pounders" out of public waters in Ohio, but I have my doubts, both about the weight and whether those spots are actually public. So I figured I’d ask what’s your opinion on if its possible to break the state record from public waters? And what’s the biggest largemouth you’ve personally caught from public waters in ohio?

I believe it... They will let you go alone in a shock boat.
If you happen to be there at the time.
Would be interesting.
I was at Walborn years back, and headed to to ramp about dark.
In the parking lot was about a dozen ODNR vehicles, and 3 shock boats.
I'm like...WTF.
They asked if I wanted to ride alone. I had to go home.

The Beach City Backwaters Had more then one 10lber come from there , Seen 1 fish i believe in the 11lb range i know it was from there because i could see the background in photo, Its was just a big shallow "swamp" Way back in the woods down a gravel road, It was Honey Hole for us locals got a lot of pressure towards the end of that place, people from all over came to fish there, my biggest from back there was 6.1lb but seen many bigger fish pretty regularly... That place is silted up n land is where we use to run our jon boats in water, I really believed the state record would of came from there. Seen the picture on the internet The Guy put exactly where he caught it , its on the fishidy app which i dont have but it showed up online.
