Milton is still pretty close to full pool, and most of the docks are concrete. I see a lot of boats on west branch still, but I do not know the condition of the docks. I would guess the ramp closest to the dam is usable, but the docks have probably been removed.
Milton ramp on 18 is lower. The docks next to ramp are close to being completely out of water. I put in my Ranger 1850 yesterday and ramp good, but you have to be careful of drop off. If I go next Friday it will be Mosquito or West Branch is state park docks still in.
Not sure which dock, but it was down and up big hill then right turn. I went out one day and when I returned all docks gone where I put in. Had a new knee and would not forget that day
This might be a really dumb question, but Im a boat newbie so hopefully I dont get made fun of too much for this. Is there a proper way to launch when there arent docks in place? I guess launching isnt really the problem, but finding a way out of the boat to take the truck/trailer up to the parking lot and back. Since Im so new at this I try to have a very specific routine so I dont forget anything or mess anything up. Any tips by here or pm would be greatly appreciated.
Well it a good question and im pretty sure everyone has thought about when they were new to boating. Well just about the only way is to beach the boat but just enough to get out with out getting wet. But remember u can damage hull. They make a hull protector. That sticks on it helps. But wont cure all. Me personally i put the boat away and wait till spring. I hate it but im not going to run my boat a ground.
The campground ramps at west branch never get pulled so you can launch there as long as water is open or ice is thin enough to break and get back safely
The docks were still in yesterday 11/2. They have pulled the buoys around the reservoir including the no wake/idle only buoys at the RS bridge.
It won't be long now before they are gone. Hopefully they repair the dock bumpers once they are on land. The RS docks are especially in need of some luving.
Thanks for the input! I'll have to try the campground ramp next time I'm out.
