Is anybody else itching for another Flathead season to begin? Right now just making sure im stocked up on Kahl Hooks , Noroll sinkers Line & plenty of thermacell refills. Need to get couple new sleeping bags.Found a nice red light headlamp that shines a really good red light off of amazon, Got to do a couple finishing touches to the pontoon to have it ready for the long season ahead, Dropping it off at Erbs tarp shop end of the month for a travel cover for it. Cleaning out the bait tank in garage & getting it hooked back up so its ready to stock up on live baits. Maping out & thinking on the productive areas to spend many hours on the bank fishing waiting for Mr Flathead. The Boy will be 5 years old by the time season starts & Lord willing he will be on a good amount of trips with me. Definatly looking forward to the all nighters under the stars , enjoying life making memories & some laughs along the way, with the family & Couple good buddies who love to flathead fish as well.

Lots of Paitence & Lots of hours waiting on the bank, But its worth it & when you think you have them figured out , youll hit a stretch thinking you dont know what ur doing ! Lots of scouting kinda like big buck hunting and all you need is a little bit of tackle does not take anything fancy just a good strong drag & i run 34$ rods have never failed n they are well abused! Good Luck in your Advventures

You can catch flatheads in cold water. Find the deepest holes with some trash and fish them. I have already caught two in the last week while saugeye fishing deep winter holes. I always catch several on jigs in December. Don't rule them out because it's cold. Two years ago I caught one just shy of 40 pounds in March while saugeye fishing and 15 minutes later caught a 19 pounder. I know a guy who targets them in ;late May here southern Ohio and does well. I think finding flatheads would be a good task for someone with a live scope. If you find them they will bite.
