Has anyone ever gone up the Tuscarawas River upstream from Long Lake in a kayak or canoe to fish there?
I’ve paddled upstream out of Long Lake, but not very far onto the river. I think one could theoretically make it as far as the damn/spillway at the Firestone Reservoir, though the area through the Metro Park has a lot of fallen logs that would impede passage.
There was a guy on here a while ago who mentioned putting kayaks in upstream of the reservoir around Arlington Road and paddling downstream onto the reservoir. This obviously raises issues with the golf course owning most of the land surrounding the reservoir (and thinking that they own the water itself), but the law would say that this is a public and navigable waterway, as long as one accesses it from the river upstream and doesn’t touch the shore.
