So I'm pretty new to fishing Lake Erie, I've learned a lot from reading what's been on here and a family member that fishes for walleye too. My question is, does anybody use these flashers and eletric e-chip to catch Walleye? I see a lot of advertisements from New York base company's . Is this primarily used for salmon? Just thought I'd throw it out there!
Thanks

ive used flashers in general on lake erie for steelhead but ive never tried them for walleye....
maybe one with a slow steady roll to it would work idk..
ive never used one with the echip in it tho...ive seen them and know people that use them but ive never used them..
concept makes sense tho if ya think about it...
I know stray voltage on a boat can mess up your fishing while trolling....

Just try something different when they are stubborn... One that we found is to increase trolling speed to get a reaction bite. Kind of like when they decide to pull the brisket from the buffet line, the fat guy grabs some even though he originally had no intent of getting any this trip... just didn't want to miss out.

i will run up to 4 mph with YoZuri stickbaits if there are fish marks and they have turned off. it works - if your lures can handle the speed. this is why we run the YoZuri, they can handle 4+mph where other stickbaits will turn over, roll, and tangle into a mess - esp with steel line...

I tried a 4" Chrome flasher on day it was slow to see what would happen. I did catch walleye
But no more than I did on the other rods. The big difference I had this year was between cranks and spoons. The bite would change morning to noon. Most days last year as long as you were in the water you had fish.
