Guys since I’ve had all this time off work I’ve been working on my tackle. What’s everyone’s favorite swimbait hook/jig? And why.

Depends on what i'm fishing for. If it's crappie, bass and saugeye, I just use the jigheads that come with the big joshy swimbaits. They're have smaller gauge wire hooks that make hook setting and pulling out snags easier. If I am fishing in a river that is known to hold larger fish I use kalin ultimate saltwater bullet jigheads. They're almost impossible to bend and are razor sharp. I use 3/0 1/4 ounce jigheads for 3.25 and 4/0 1/4 ounce for j5s. I throw on heavier jigheads in faster deep water.

I’ll be the odd man out, I’m not picky. Ball head with a light wire mustad hook. Has to be light wire. I hate swinging for the fence. I’m not one on color, I like plain lead. Easy to make, not worried when I lose them. For eyes I’m using 1/16-1/2oz, lmb I’m using 1/4-1oz. I tend to use the Zoom swimmers, Rage swimmers and Missile baits shockwave. I like using a plain old Kalin’s or Zoom grub honestly. Caught some good ones on grubs over the years.

I like the Moon Eye jig from VMC, up to 3/8 oz. it has a light wire hook for better hook sets, and I like the head on it kinda pinched down a little, also a nice little bait keep on the hook as well. I am with you Bobby, I like to contrast my bodies with my jig heads. Also, take a good look at the Storm 360GT searchbait. I have had some good luck using those.
