Probably the closest place might be on the GMR below the Hamliton dam, I have seen some 4-6" skippies there at times but never consistantly, youll need to find them on the Ohio River, and of course, they are never consistant down there, here today, gone tomorrow etc. Good luck!!

Wow, I might have better luck looking for a Bigfoot. Looks like I have some exploring to do when the SNOW stops...

 

I can get them frozen in Springfield, but other than that, the big river is the only other place i've got them fresh.

 

The elusive skipjack...haha I can usually get them over by Meldahl dam, but that is down on the Ohio, and even then it is only a few at a time and almost not worth the drive. Hopefully I can tear into some this year. My buddy was out one morning and was able to get 60 of them with his fishing partner all in the 6-10 inch range, but that was just being in the right place at the right time.

thats my history with them, i get them at racine and some days they in there by the hundreds and others its like they dont exist
