Any ice reports on either lake are they completely locked up or what looking to get some eyes before the big lake gets a chance

Lady at the Pyma bait store said they are catching walleye there. She didn't know where though. I live 1 mile from Pyma and saw no one at the south end. I went out on my pond and I have 4" of ice. I thought it would be a lot thicker than that. Caught about 30 bluegills and a 2.5 pound bass in less than an hour. Got cold and came inside, but might go back out on a couple of hours.

Pymie about 4 inches where I was today. Got all set up with my new flip over and turned on my flasher. No bottom mark just a red line at zero. Messed with it and gave up. Turned on the 2nd flasher and it was spinning but no colors. Charged both last night. Fished 2 hours in 20+ fow had a walleye and crappie swim by on camera but no bites. About 12 other shanty visible between swim beach and snodgrass

We fished the South end of mosquito both Saturday and Sunday. I had my kids both days.

Saturday we fished in 12fow and caught nothing and markered very few fish.

Sunday we fished in 8fow and not more than 50 yrds off shore and caught more dink bluegill than we could handle. It was exactly what the doctor ordered.

Both days were fished less than 3hrs total and in the middle of the day.

Water was clear and so was the 3" ice. I hope it gets thicker, it would kill the pucker factor for sure.

I felt very comfortable on the ice today, still used spud and had ice picks while walking in tho to be safe. It felt great to walk on the hard water again, fished until 6:00 we were last guys off. Plenty of marks just no takers, ended up catching 2 smaller crappie. Slow day, thinking Pymy later in week. Good luck to those that head out, looking forward to the reports now that we have ice! 🎣

Fished out of Pymatuning today out of the beach at Jamestown. There were 15-20 shanties out and we followed the path most of the way to where we wanted to fish. We had 4" of ice, with 2 of us in an Otter Lodge, it was pretty soupy by the end of the day. We fished from 12-5:30 and kept 2 crappie, and 8 perch. No walleye. We were marking tons and tons of shad the entire time. Most of the fish came on a minnow on deadstick/jawjacker.

It was my first time using the livescope, and even in 24 fow, it's amazing how moving a bucket, or making some other sudden noise can make fish that are coming into the area scatter in a hurry. Learned to stay quiet when marking fish.

Same thing with pyma yesterday ice decent no issues for us . All blade baits we had 12 eyes and one muskie which is my first thru the ice .
Any tricks to fishing the blades through the ice? Are you ripping them like in the western basin, or is it more subtle? We've had okay luck with vibratos, normally some 1.5ft rips, then when we mark a fish, we slow it down and work them up. We normally catch a couple walleye, but never limits on inland water.

Fished mosquito yesterday, pretty much 4" everywhere we went, still found anfew thin spots SO SPUD SPUD DAMN IT!! Just because where seeing more guys out don't let your gaurd down!! Oh and by the way fished before sunrise to after sunset we might have caught 10 to 12 crappie, had a walleye hooked up but came unpinned!! Tons of lookers very few players!! Still great to be on the hardwater, looks pretty promising for a great season!!

well not sure if its a trick or not but I run almost always vibratos 98% of the time. Some days size matters but 7 gram is normally the best. small lifts just enough to feel them flutter 10-12 inches with about a 3 sec pause on the bottom and I keep a tiny crack between the bottom and mark on vex. keep the same lifts when fish come in!
