Finally got out for about 3.5 hours this morning from 9-12:30 PM and went to a new spot, saw a million leaves on the water and in 6 casts, had to retie 6 rigs, , did manage 1 decent hit, so I picked up the rod and he jerked it hard enough I did a reaction strike and missed him, that was on a half a frozen chub. Leaves kept building up and then would start pulling on the clickers, frustrating so I left to head to another popular spot. Once there, it is wide open so the leaves were not a problem, water was right at 50 degrees and was slightly up, but with at least 2 feet of visability and the cloudy skies should have made it a banner morning, so I retied and through out another cut chub one one rod and some chicken livers on another, within 10 minutes had a good run on the chub again and landed a 3 lb 9 oz channel, so I was pleased and figured a few more of his buddies would show up but I was wrong, in the next 2 plus hours only managed about 2 more mediocre hits, missed them both, and a few taps but nothing very solid, sun came out and ruined anything that was about to happen and also broke off about 6-8 more times. I need to save up and re buy supplies every time I head out, at this rate its gonna be christmas fore I can afford to go out again.
I may be able to get out tomorrow after the big rain for a short while, Ill see how it goes, More later if I do get out.
