Does anybody know the current conditions of Salt Fork?

No idea on temp but water is very clear compared to what it usually is in my experience over the past couple years. Probably around 4' visibility and not murky at all. Caught a saugeye right before dark and talked to some musky fisherman that had done good today and some folks that had been after crappies and only found a few legal ones.

it's a shame but the fishing pressure on our lakes causes guys to be tight lipped. Look at the ramps on the week ends. No one wants to add fuel to the fire. Can't really blame them. It's hard to give out info when you go to hit your favorite area and 5 boats are already there. What ever happened to the new lake they were to put in off old rt 8? We need more fishing holes. Just my opinion. Don't want to start a war :) By the way I'm still going to give my reports when I can. Every one isn't going to catch fish on any given day. Saugeye especially. There a tough fish to figure out. Good fishing everyone !!

E-Man, true what you say. (BUT) I've many friends who won't post anymore on southeastern because of the grief from (self proclaimed POST police) and rude (post critic's). Why post a report when some guy's on here reply making you sound like a idiot. If you don't have a happy, hug and sing together thread post your fired on as a negative or lousy fisherman. If you don't agree with a members thoughts or perception on a topic about a lake or fishing conditions,,,,, offer a different in sight or view with a little respect back.

You'er right about that dragline. Have had that experience on here. Ive learned to let it roll off my back and move on. A lot of people on here are much smarter then me and that's fine . I enjoy fishing when I get out and focus on just that regardless of all the negative actions of some of these "smarter guys". I can remember when people in general respected one another and had manners. Those days seem to be far and few between anymore. Not only on the water but on the roads, in stores, and just about every where you go these days. All each of us can do is enjoy our sport and lead by example when it comes to being polite, and respectful to our peers. By the way, I here the saugeyes are starting to hit at Seneca. Hope to get after them soon !

E-man and dragline,
You guys are right on in many ways. I made what I thought was an innocent comment a while back and one of the frequent S.E. Ohio members jumped all over me. As far as posting fishing info......I sure understand why people are reluctant. I fish one of the smaller lakes in N.E. Ohio. It took years to learn the off shore structure. Then some guy writes in and maps out most of the good areas. Then they start having tournaments on this small lake. Now the fish are way harder to catch due to the increased pressure. As to courtesy.....A couple of weeks ago I was the first boat out on Turkey Foot. The next boat out stopped 25 yds. in front of me and started fishing in the same direction. Thanks you jerks. We all have stories like this and it's a shame. You two seem like good men. If you see me out in my Smokercraft with "my buddy, my pal, my friend", Teddy the golden retriever say hi. Mick

So about those saugeye starting to bite at seneca....where, on what, how deep??? Haha jk. I was there two nights ago and couldnt get them to hit. I was marking some fish in 10-12 fow, but they werent interested. Tried vibes, twisters road runners and jerkbaits. Im just casting, not trolling. I did hook a giant bluegill, thought they were extinct around here.

Hi Dougers. Just like when I perch fish on Erie. One guy can have a good day and the guy 50' from him can't get a bite. Seen it happen a lot. I'm sure you already know how finicky the saugeyes are. One day they're there the next day who knows. Actually the weather patterns have been kind of erratic. need some sustained nice weather and I think we will all start catching some rather then just fishing. Good to get on the water though !. OH, power lizards, in the weeds, in 60fow. (lol ). Good luck .
