Can you all post any pictures of the rudders you've made to assist your terrova or Xi5 in steering ? I'm going to fabricate one and am looking for ideas. Rather just but one but can't find any for sale anywhere . Suprised no one markets these .

A while back tightlines had a batch of plastic ones made and did a order for them on here. Search terrova rudder and it should come up. Attaches via stainless hose clamps and I hands down love mine.
Here is a link for this forum, shows pic, Meerkat has posted several, you do a search for "rudder" or check his posts. The deeper & longer they are the more resistance to wind blowing bow around. Helps on battery life also easy to fab.
That's pretty good at least there are pics of the minnkota & motor guide so you can see the difference in skeg placement. All I saw were the pics of the Minny's and I winged it on the shape
Oh they work! Used one on my old boat for about 4 years. Had one on my new boat for about a year. Can stay on line into & across the waves at 2 1/2 setting on minn kota.
I did not have a source for thick Aluminum, so I picked up a piece of polycarbonate (hard clear plastic) 1/4" x 8" x 20" at glass shop this summer for $3. This is the same stuff the use for back trolling splash guards. It is still waiting for me to cut to shape and attach. Will get 'er done before summer!
Farmer, just be careful with the bow at the boat at the dock. I had a plastic one on my troller and my boat got too close to the dock while I was getting my truck. When the bow swung the plastic bumped the dock and cracked. I now have an aluminum one. Good luck.
Hey, thanks. I don't deploy the MinKota till at location for trolling, and stow it before we run back in. Bow is not near dock level so should be ok but you are correct. If hits something, will crack or break. But for $3.00 and a little effort, I will see how it works this coming year.!!!! Chris.
