Went out to Paymatuning Lake after work the other day and caught 7 bass and lost a few in a short period of time. Also, was able to put together this video showing the tactics I was using! By far my favorite approach for shallow water. What are some of your favorite approaches?

Heading there Friday for a week. I use the wacky, but pumpkinseed tubes are my favorite.
How do you rig your tube to keep it weedless? I use tubes on Lake Erie for smallmouth, but I use a tube jib so the hook is exposed. I could see where that wouldn't be much fun in weeds!

I mean real live frogs. I was blue gill fishing with my youngest boy and the little frogs were jumping everywhere and about every couple minutes one would get hammered by a big bass. All i had was some twister tails so i just cast them out and reeled them across the weeds and whammmm. I think I got 3 nice ones and 2 smaller bass.

Nice vid bud! My fav lake. Wish I lived closer and could fish it more :)

I never fish it unless nothing else work, but my "FUR-SURE" get um lure is the original floating rapala
Thats funny cause I can't seem to catch ANY on stick baits. Anything longer than shad profiles I've got very little confidence in. Those and lipless cranks I dunno. No bueno!

I attach a long shank hook to a leader of about 2 feet. Then run it through the tube nose and let it hang out the back. It holds the tube, and if you don't use too big of a hook it pretty much makes it weedless. Might use a split shot up front on the leader, or even squeeze a small shot on the hook shank after you run it through the tube. Usually gives it enough weight in the shallows. I'm sure there's probably a better way, but it's works ok for me.

Nice! I love seeing a bass break water and then being able to hook up with him when you throw it in there!

If it works for you whose to argue! I had read that texas rigging them it is really hard to get good hook ups, which makes sense, so I was curious.

Nice video!

Ya Pyma is always good, just some days better than others. Was there yesterday(Fri.)
Caught 40 + bass. Couple 4 lb'ers the rest 1-3's
Sounds like a great day! I was there Friday night for about an hour and picked up 4. We were in the north end. What end of the lake were you fishing, and what did you use?

North end, launched at Wilson road. Caught some on a sinko, some flippin a worm or craw bait when they got tight. Only one on a frog. Caught the most/largest on a spinnerbait.

That's where I fish too, great spots close by in there! You stay shallow, or do you ever try to pull them out of those weeds in 6 - 10 foot of water? We usually stay shallow.

Do you mind if I ask what color Senko Worm you're using? There are a number of watermelon and pumpkin options.....and I can't seem to pick the correct one.

Thanks for sharing.

This is a GULP green pumpkin color. I usually like Green with red specs and Brown worms. Always has better luck with natural colors.

Weather has not been good here. Constant blow the last 2 says with scattered showers. Did manage a few nice crappie near Tuttle Point and a few bass right out the cabin door in Linesville. Wake up, walk out and wade in your boxers and cast for bass. Bay is 75 feet from cabin door. Wife has breakfast ready when I go back it. Hard to beat that.

Can't argue with that!
