Can't report on possum, but I was at east wood today. Lagoon is completely open, but the big lake was about 80%+ froze looking about 3-4" thick where I checked. Was shocked though since the small blue lake in the back was thawed 10'+ from shore last week yet, was all locked up today. Probably won't help much but, who knows, maybe it will.

thanks, a relative told me the pond is still about a quarter of the way froze on the side farthest from where the pipe drains into the pond. Hopefully with the warmer weather we've been having the ponds and lakes will become all fishable through open water as many are unsafe for ice fishing now. good luck

 

I know there are a decent amount of trout in there. I caught one ice fishing it this year. I talked to a few other guys out there and they said that the fishing had been very slow this year and that that fish just didn't seem to want to bite. Hopefully with ice out things will pick up. If you head out there let us know how you did and what the ice situation is. Don't want to risk making the drive up there and not being able to fish.

 

I was there on Sunday and I did not take a look at the smaller ponds, but there were a lot of cars parked near them. The lower/deep half of the large lake still had about 15 feet of ice extending from the shoreline.

Didn't go too well. The whole pond was thawed out but it looked like a paylake with all the people there. Most of the people there, including myself, didn't catch a fish while some people caught one or two. I had two or three hits on rainbow powerbait, and that is what I'm pretty sure the others caught theirs on also. Did manage to pull in a pretty big crawdad who had wrapped its claws around my minnow that must have died. The trout that were caught were 2 or 3 pounds a piece.

 

Thats a bummer but at least you got out to enjoy the weather! I got to spend 15 hours inside at work. Of course my off day is Thursday and its supposed to be back down in the 30's. Might hit possum as I am sure there will be less people there then haha
