i posted this question awhile back, but received no info. am trying again. years ago, we used a small weighted fly called a no name to catch crappies. it was a hunk of lead with a small white fly behind it with a leader attached. heard they were still being made, but cannot find any. does anyone possibly know where i can get some? any info will be appreciated...rap

thanks guys, i really appreciate the help. surprised i could not find it. i see the price went up. think i used to pay .59 for them, funny, i don't feel that old. we used to throw them off the rip-rap in lake hamilton, struthers, ohio and really cleaned up on the slabs. buried one in my head (both hooks) and ended up pulling a chunk of noggin out with the hooks. all in all, one of the best lures i ever used, along with rapalas and cp swings. again, your help is much appreciated.........rap

There is a salt water fly we use for catching bonefish called a crazy charlie that you can buy either @ cabela's that the crappie just tear up. They have two beads as eyes that act as weight's and is basically a small jig (very small) They resemble a shrimp to a bonefish but the crappie at mosquito eat um like they are going out of style. Just a tip might want to give it a try

no longer in struthers, but i was one of mike's first customers when he was next to the tangier bar. truth be told, that is where i used to buy them. have not been in there more than once in the last 25 years. will be in that area tomorrow and plan to stop. thanks again, i really appreciate it. btw, i am also looking for thompson doll flies. believe they went under in the mid 70s. i have found cp swings at the fly shop in volant, pa. they still get them from time to time.
