Went to Nimisila from 6-9pm today going for one more batch of Crappie for the frezzer before the water warms up. Things started off bad, forgot to charge my battery the night before so i was stuck going .002 mph and no depthfinder. So i went to a close by shallow area for some Crappie, and they were hitting anything i threw today, took home 15, 10-12" Crappie. I noticed the bigger Crappie were coming from the deeper water, so i started fan casting the edge of the drop adjacent to the cover the majority of the Crappie were holding on, and pulled in one 12" and three 11" from there. Next tap i got(felt like a Crappie thump at first) turned into a heck of fight! Was throwing a 3" swimbait on #10 braid, light action rod. When it started running i thought big Bass, when it got close to the boat and started ripping drag i thought Cat, then i saw the eyeballs. got it netted and exhaled:D besides Lake Erie, biggest Walleye ive caught, it was 25 1/2" and 5 1/2lbs. I targeted Walleye at Nimi for a while the last 3 years and gave up on them... i guess i'll just keep Crappie fishing!

Looks to be a very nice sized fish! Try as I might, I cannot read the tape or the scale! Exactly what was the length and weight??
It was 25 1/2 inches and 5 1/2 pounds... non digital, i thought it would go heavier, looks skinnier in pictures i took, but it was thick too. stomach had a 5" gizzard shad in it.

NICE Buckzye!! Nimi also had my FIRST inland PB Eye,,Years ago '79-'80 I went there after having gone to Lorain to fish on a charter that got blown off,,due to "Small Craft" weather,,So we took my little boat to Nimi.. We,, (My Friend Dave&Me) both got our Personal Best Inland Eyes that day.. His was just short of 8lbs,,& mine was a 'lil over 7lbs both fish were F.O's .. The best part was before that windy-rainy day I NEVER got an Eye out of there,,Then between the two of us,,we boated 6 of them.... There must be some more in the lake yet..Go get some Buckzye!! ----->>>>>sonar<<<<<-----
