How was the perchin bounty?

It may be a pain to others (like me and you) but when they are short on emeralds I can understand why they would give preference to the guys going on headboats.

With bait, those guys are droppin $50-60/man compared to $25 you and me might spend on bait, ice.

It's irritating...but it's understandable from a business perspective.

Sorry I don't agree. Wildwood is a State owned park and marina. Those who manage it are there to SERVE the general public. They are not there to discriminate and choose who gets preferential treatment. Another issue I have with the management is they smoke like crazy in that place. It's a State owned building and smoking in a public facility is against the law.

Was there about a month ago my buddy got shiners when we got there about a half hour later they said all they had were goldens, then then caption said on the radio to a other boat that got goldens to go back in and tell them he said it was ok to give him shiners, we over herd this and I will not give them a dime more of my money, only go to shines from now on....

Agitation...if the state ran the boats and the concession I would agree with you. That is not the case.

It's a private business who happens to have the state as their landlord.

Shines is my prefered bait shop even when launching at WW.

Some good points expressed here! Esp. the last one when you consider 46,000 people(who never smoked in their life) die each year from "second hand smoke"!(Had to spurt out that statistic since I heard it on Ch. 8 news tonight so "it must be true!" Plus, who sells minnows out of a 5 gallon bucket!(terrible counts usually also.)
That said, who "benefits" from the dockage fees, and sales in the tackle/bait shop? Is it some kind of concessionaire/franchise deal?? or does it go into the state's GENERAL FUND?!! Whereever it goes, someone should patch up those ramp chuck holes!!(and repaint the arrows for launching in, and taking out!)

they did finally fix the ramps....and I for one have never had a problem with the guys there....aside from the nasty smoking....but then again I also have never had a problem catching perch on goldens or fatheads.....I'm not very picky when it comes to emaralds....nice to have em but all they do is make a bigger mess of my boat and my perchin rods....stupid scales.

Bobinstow. I agree that they do have a right to operate their business, however I don't believe they have the right to benefit from selective and discriminating practices. Wildwood is a State owned facility. Every person that walks into that marina should be treated fairly. Next time you are there, try paying with a credit card. It's cash only. Wonder why? I'll go to Shines from now on when launching at WW.

We need a like button. I agree 100 percent. It's their business to run as they see fit.

I fish there quite a bit, its real simple just give them a call on your way in and ask if they have bait. They do take credit cards but if the total is under $20 they have a sur charge.
Last week they refused my friends card for fish cleaning. They told him they only accept cash? Didn't even scan his card. The bill was $54.00. They have refused mine in the past as well.

I went out of there last year perching and one buddy paid for the minnows with credit/debit and the guy there (no name mentioned) raised all hell about paying with plastic even though they had a Visa/MC sign up. Forget them. I'm thinking the ramp is State maintained but the shop is owned by the individuals. Ill drive out of my way to Stinks.....Anthony gives a great count.

We used a credit card on the yellow boat last year and they asked if we had cash. Said they had to pay the CC company a transaction fee. (That's true) I asked him how much and I think it was 3 bucks. I threw him 3 singles and said "cool"? He said yup. Many ways to skin a cat.

Not sure what the fees are for smaller volume business but I run a shop and we pay 1.75 on visa and master card transactions, now they have a swiper for cells and its 3 percent per swipe, that's the price you pay to do business today and you gave him 3 bucks for 50 buck transaction, they wanted 2 bucks from me on a $15.00 purchase, they just want cash because it is easer to hide the money and not pay taxes on it, I don't know about most of you but I bet they would sell more if they ran it like a reel business and not ripped you off for using a credit card and one more reason I will not give them any more of my money ...

I concur all the above incedences (spell) however, they are convienient and I myself have only been refused emeralds one time.
I look forward to flirting with the little blonde barefoot "---------" female, she gives me good minnow count.
Shines is only hop skip I've done them too but it's always a frantic hustle and bustle episode to keep that line moving.
