We go to the Temagami region every three years. We have great success with the small mouth, but walleye and pike are tougher to come by. We canoe and have our base camp on Lake Wasaksina.

I go a couple times a year and for about 2 weeks each time. We hit the walleye and smallmouth pretty hard. Depending on the time of year for smallmouth we either use tubes or topwater. For Walleye we use vibees and KILL them! finding them is the most important thing. A lot of guys use warm harness and many others just drop a night crawler on the bottom and leave it.
I want to troll for Lake Trout. That is my major objective now.

 

We are going for a week this July. Fishing out of a canoe is a challenge especially for locating fish and structure without electronics. Do you fish lake Temagami only or other lakes also? Do you vertical jig the vibees or are you casting them?

I never fished this lake but stopped there to get bait when we went to Lady Evelyn Lake last year.I just found a flyier for a charter service from a guy i talked to at the bait house .Has some info about the lake and Pine lake for lake trout fishing mabey you can e mail and get what info you need.

Thanks for the info. I have spoken to both of them on many occasions. Very very very tight lipped about anything unless you are willing to pay for a charter. Even when you go out with them it is like you are getting a location for the "bat cave".
Lady Evelyn, do you have a place there? The people I go up with use to stay on that lake before Lake Temagami.

 

We stay at White Pine Lodge on the montreal river were you portage up to the lake.Good rates but have to pay portage charge to get up to the lake.
We went in August last year and caught a lot of fish but mostley eaters.
Going July 4 this year.Hope to get in to some bigger bass and eyes.
