🎣 A twisted white perch contest @ Ladue reservoir 🎣

My first thoughts are ZERO money with this as a payment with placements and whatnot. Too much B.S. with that.

#2 It will be taking place in mid May to early June as the water levels at that time are still good to great plus the white perch bite is amazing!

🤔 Good to great water levels.
🤔 The bite is amazing.
🤔 Great weather with options If not so great weather.

#3 I'm going to need feedback with this contest as do we want one main contest with maybe a couple of weekend side things 🤔.

🐟 All fish donated to a food group/hall (thoughts please with this)

🐟 Help with the process of the white perch (cleaning)

🐟 Maybe I could talk to one of the corner stores/gas stations near by with donations with worms/ice and whatnot. Plus could be a proces/fish cleaner location.

#4 rules and how do we do it?

🐟 Total inches.
🐟 Total weight.
🐟 Combo of both.
🐟 BIG white perch.
🐟 The payouts ...

🪱 Again I stress that zero $ is involved with the contest. But what happens outside of it as with (parking lot talk) it's all good.

🪱 I'm all for with payments that have to do with fishing 🎣 related material things.

👍 Rods/reels.
👍 Tackle.
👍 Donations with old boots/waders/tackle boxes etc ...
👍 Maybe gift cards.
👍 Something with kids...

#5 overall.

💡 Again I would like to do this next year during mid/late May early June.

💡 I'm looking forward to ideas with this contest and a couple of solid members that maybe we could hook a few times this upcoming Steelhead season and B.S. about this white perch contest.

💡 We have a long time until this becomes reality ... But let's not totally put this on the back burner.

🎣🪱🤔😎👍🥓👣🍺 ...

I can't wait to read some feedback with this and only hope that we can put together an amazing contest/goodtime that possibly will lead to Greater things.

Stay twisted.

Don.

Was there yesterday, pulled out like 30ish white perch. Water is so insanely down, it's near 8 feet down since spring.

422 boathouse seems to be closed(no clue bout weekends), as the ramp is unusable. Had to walk my yak out down old bridge 500+ feet. Nothing can be put in the water, unless you can carry/drag or roll your yak a good distance, unless you park off valley rd and hop railing. I mean "technically" you can back your car down the the old bridge if you're really daring but even then I had to walk my yak out a good 20 more feet before I got depth to sit in the yak.

Haven't benn to 44 ramp in a few weeks, I'm assuming same thing though, since last year saw so many trucks stuck.

I ended up fishing on the exposed "island" in the middle of the lake. Normally would be a 5-6 foot deep shallow rise you'd fish around, yesterday it was like this...

Found a bunch of jigs, few lures and this on there. Most rusted behind use, been there a bit.

Been out there a decent amount last 2 weeks. Been sorta nice since every day including the weekend I was the only person on the lake. Seen a few people on yaks but most days I'm the only one. No clue what 44 side is like though. Although shoreline has been pretty packed though with people.

Few days ago I had a freakin' small plane skim the surface 100 feet in front of me like an *******. :(

Bit late but I was out there one morning last week in the 44 ramp parking lot to meet another guy halfway abt trading for his outboard, it looks exactly like the pic in this quote, phenominally LOW! Some guys in 4x4's drove down near the edge of the water across the sandbar but near to the waters edge to drop off kayaks then back into the lot to park. Couple bankers fishing off the bar as well. There abt 30 minutes, no catches seen(surprisingly).

The white perch tournaments had happened a few times but the luster wore out. And I think it's dead on the jump unless there's a prize of sorts. Lots of guys won't waste the time fishing for them without some kind of prize on the line. Let's be honest there's more people that the white devil has ruined their fishing day than those that were excited to catch more than 1 of them. 🤷‍♂️

I agree with all that is said. I'm working on this here and there in the fish lab. I will have a much more toned down version of what I previously posted about a white perch tournament.

I haven't forgotten about this and will have updates and ideas throughout the Fall 🍂 and Winter ❄.

Stay twisted 🎣

Don.
