When you guys are running jets off of boards, is it possible to run different lengths off of the same side of the boat or will you get tangles. I have always kept them the same of off one side.

Within reason. I try to keep the lengths within about 25'. If possible run the outermost line longer. I know you will have to move the shorter one out when you get the first fish on the outermost line eventualy. When the outside line releases just make sure to let it drift straight behind the boat before reeling in.
It's all starting to work for us finally.

Tip: when pulling jets or wt assisted cranks behind little boards, when you get one on, turn the boat around 20 degrees away from the fish, and have the guy with the rod count of 20 seconds. These 2 thngs together will help in clearing lines and minimizing tangles. As stated above keeping all drops on 1 side about the same ( 20' plus or 20' minus), also helps.

Good luck

Are you running big or little boards?

If your running big boards you want to keep your leads all the same, with the same sixze jet.

The rod next to the board will be the deepest and inside rod will be the highest, because you'll have less line in the water.

If your pulling fish on the inside rods, your leads are to long and shorten them up, if its the outside line, you should drop the side back.

What about all the slack in the line waiting for the line to clear to the back of the boat? This is probably the biggest thing that keeps me from trying big boards, is my perception of all that slack line, that and I rarely fish more 4 guys and it is normally 2-3 in the boat.
The key is maintaining tension / contact with the line after it releases while you wait for it to clear. I'll bring some big boards when we get together to fish. I'll be SHOCKED if you don't prefer the big boards for your boat once you've done it - especially if there are more than 2' waves. About the only time I prefer inlines is if you are going real slow - less than 1.5.
