Was curious if anyhow has any info on how the bass fishing has been going lately up at Clear Fork? Have not been up there in a while and was thinking about heading up there this weekend.

Thanks in advance for any updates!

Been slowing down of late. Fished a tournament the last three weeks straight and it went from just over ten pounds three weeks ago to win, to nine and a half last week, to 7 and a half tonight to win. Most anglers in those tourneys were catching one to three keepers per 4 hours of fishing. The suface water temp tonight was upper sixties to lower seventies and portions of the reservoir are stained or muddy due to the recent wind and rain. If you make the trip, good luck.

I did fish Clear Fork 2 of the planned three days. It was the first time I fished the lake and found the lake excellent for bass fishing! Both days I fished I caught several bass at several parts of the lake. It does appear the lake does get significant bass fishing pressure...one time taking a break I looked down the lake and every island, hump and etc. had a bass boat (or two) parked! The bass get pressured, but they are catch able. I had great success using, buzz baits, un weighed worms, spinner baits, and cranks - not any any order mind you. I do plan on hitting Clear Fork in the Spring for sure...

Thanks for the follow up and the report. Sounds like you enjoyed your time on the water and the fish were willing to bite. The lake is heavily fished, and yet the bass still hit so all is well. Fished a year end tournanment there on 9-17-11 and many big bass were brought to the scales one 6.19 and several 5 pounders. The winning weight was over 12 lbs. with the 6 pound beauty as the anchor and fifth place weighing in 8.5 pounds. I did manage a limit but no big bass so finished with 7.75 pounds. Two tournamnets were fished that day and another big tournament was scheduled for the following day. Lots of sore mouths in that water right now. Still, glad you enjoyed it and try the spring fishing it can be great.
