Fish yesterday in the middle pool by myself from 11 till 4 went thru 8 doz minnows and caught over 50 crappie and 10 or so perch. I was drop shotting minnows in 15 foot of water. The problem is only a couple crappie were over 9 inches. I was just wondering if everybody else is experiencing the same thing.

I have tried larger baits and other stuff speed etc. but like you the avg. size of the crappie I catch there are all around 9 or a little smaller, over fished?? Maybe the little guys get to it first?? I'm not really targeting crappie though so ... The big flicker shads and reef runners and I still pick up crappie not much bigger than the bait. My buddy said there trying to mate with it not eat it.

There are some really nice crappie at hoover. Middle pool is a good place to fish. Kind of surprised on your results. I am not sure where you were. But if you are dropping off try a little shallower.
That's how hoover usually is for me too. I was out there last week in the early AM and caught around 60 but only had 20 keepers.

I caught 1crappie 11inchs trolling the middle pool in my canoe .... but i also hooked up with 3 largemouth also trolling a all white pearl crank 10-12ft down
