I have been told about a helipad out by Pelee that is fantastic for SMB. I have looked online and cannot find it. The resolution on Google Earth isn't good enough outside of the island to find it in the water.

I did find the Colchester Reef Lighthouse, but I can't believe that is what they are talking about as it is right off the Canadian mainland.

If anyone has any coordinates I would be very grateful if you would be willing to share.

Thank you!!

What is referred to as the "pad" is just a pet name for it, it's really Middle Ground shoal and what is spoke about being the pas is actually the lighthouse, it has a flat roof with a tower off one corner. This is actually the north passage shipping lanes. Middle ground is located E-NE of the old Pelee lighthouse.

It's a hike to get there but worth it. I "catch and release" all smallmouth and we released over 60 one day at the helipad (soft craws and tubes). I've got 7-8 favorite smallmouth rock piles on the east side of Pelee but always make a point to run up the helipad before the day is over. 90% of the time you're the only boat there but two years ago a six pack charter full of Amish were having a blast with those fish. On a typical smallmouth run we'll over night at Scudders Marina for a few days on the north end of Pelee. Good safe harbor and a quick shot to the smallmouth holes. Give it a shot. Good luck.
