Anytime there is a northeast forecast no matter what they say its going to be you can count on any type NE wind its going to be bumpy, there is nearly 90 miles or more of open water for it to start capping. I go to www.lakerart.com, top right corner is Great Lakes cameras and I click on many spots to see what's happening, you can see conditions. It may seem calm inland but the lake could already be picking up.

Lake art is great to view various areas. You tube Cleveland Crib Camera gives you a shot off shore. Look at the wind apps. As a general rule for me 10mph wind = 2’ waves as a decent guesstimate . I do a lot of homework prior to heading out of Kent Ohio. Gas is like food. Very expensive to waste. And yes noaa is basically worthless! My dog can predict the wave height’s better.

I looked at windy sunday to see what Tuesday weather/water will be. I found ir to be 1 to 2 ft by color. And no wind until early evening.
I just looked at noaa they said 2 ft or less and no mention of wind.
So if I go tomorrow for evening bite will have to keep an eye out and watch for wind cause that brings waves
