Has anyone been fishing lately? I have never been there and am thinking about checking it out. What is it like as far as structure? That road that divides the two ponds.... does the rock go to the bottom of each pond? Whats the bite like early am and evening.

Think of a giant Pyrex bowl full of water with big rocks down all the sides. And the big one is giant. I think over 600 acres. The rocks stop somewhere before the main basin. Not sure how far down they go.
Never fished it early AM, because I'm from Toledo. Don't get up that early anymore. I have caught fish there in the evening , on into dark. But I haven't been there in a long time. It's pretty hit or miss.
Don't know what your fishing for, or where you're from. There's better options, unless you live in Findley.

Got to agree...... I fish several big and small reservoirs around me and the main reason I fish them so much is just sumple proximity. The main reservoirs I fish are 10 to 20 mins away. It is about 45 mins to an hour to fish the spots I hit on Erie. If those Erie spots were closer, doubt I'd fish the reservoirs at all.

Take that all with a grain of salt. I have literally fished Findlay once in my life. I've read up a lot about it and it sounds much like the reservoirs I frequently fish over here like Willard, Beaver Creek, Bellevue, Clyde, Bucyrus, etc.

It's not easy place to fish with the rocks. If you live in Swanton, I imagine you have fished Delta upper and Wauseon upper reservoirs. It's much more treacherous walking the rocks at Findlay. The smallmouth are a good reason to try it, but it's lot of walking and casting to find some of them. There are some decent yellow perch in there too. White bass might keep you entertained with some bites. Definitely hit of miss. McKarns and Barton are probably little closer for you and going west. Oxbow in Definace is another option too. Wiregrass and Orlander Park another couple for you as well. Plenty of places to fish, just not many guarantees for bites. Good luck.

Went down there yesterday...the wind picked up hard from the west. I never been here before and was really impressed to the size of it. The water is gin clear. I could see bottom 10' down. there was alot of algee particals floating around. I emptied the tackle box trying to put something together. What I found to work was pulling crawler harnesses. Picked up 3 eyes, a smallie and 2 perch. Seen 3 other boats out and not much going on. Nice ramp.Easy in and out. Anyone else get down there post up what ya come up with.......fish on!

Fishing is good for perch now, minnows, waxies in both res I & II, Saugeye and Walleye is good if you are there when the bite is on. Evenings and Mornings for sure, daytime is for perch. I like to troll using deep divers (Hot N Tots) close to the rocks in the magic hour. They both are open 24/7 for your fishing pleasure. That is no road that is between the two res walking only. The Res I is electric only and the ramp is dicey, Res II is 10 HP max, nice ramp.

I saw some pictures of stringers of nice perch coming out of the Res. Shore fishing with redworms, close to 20 or more nice perch. BUT one guy in the garage said no that is lima res. I was not there but each of those perch was very nice. Heard Indian is doing very well shore fishing also. I am sick with some serious heart issues, or I would be pounding it myself. Most surrounding me are in the deer mode, I have seen at least 12 deer all bucks in my garage to get weighed, no does shot yet but gun season is coming. Lots of nice bucks this year out of the 12 that came through here, 0 were small baskets, everyone has been out past his ears, never seen a season like this. the blind within 200 yards of my house is fire. 6 bucks have been shot out of that every night that someone hunts it maybe up to an hour sitting there and another nice buck drops. a lot of my friends are pissed but not letting them back there, no does or yearlings was the rule this year and it is paying off.

My neighbor guy went to Res #2 Findlay, he and his son could only take it for 15 -20 minutes fishing from shore. Using creek chubs' for bait. He had 3 perch that each one belongs on the wall, each over 13 inches as I measured and fat as can be. Colors were brilliant, I should be there right now. I did not go back in for my camera to bad for you.
