Pounded Lorain off the east side of the rocks for a few hours. Minnows all over the rocks, reports of some late afternoon steel, but no heavy reports of 'eyes yet. Imagine it will be another week or 2. Water temps are just dropping below 60. Should start hoppin' soon.

3 Of us fished Huron Fri.- Sat. Just south of the three stranded ore boats, the water was full of shiners and shad.
Managed 1 Huge shad- 3" caught on a treble hook .25 inches behind a HJ 13
about 1.2 mph

" Fish Ohio " im thinkin..

any day now, nobody knows exactly when it will happen except for the guy who is out there the night they decide to come in.
If it could be predicted, I wouldnt have drove 600 miles last weekend to throw lures at the pretty ships. (its all CHACE)

i went out like a dummy last night...the water was coming up onto the deck with a north/west wind....so no luck with the walleyes last night
wow thats hardcore man. i could barely get to the lake yesterday morning without being blown around. it was really raging. the waters really murked up bad. steady strong wind from the NW. seems pretty nasty out there again today.

its definitely very close. i saw a decent amount of shad tonight but the water was still pretty dirty. the chop wasnt too bad but the wind made shore casting very difficult. you pretty much had to cast with the wind to get any distance at all.

the fish are there though. i caught my first steelhead ever tonight from shore on a rapala x-rap and 6lb line. should be prime fishin conditions any day now.

Took my 10yr old son with me to edgewater park, lots of shad being pushed up against the rocks, you could see then stranded by the thousands after each wave. Waves too high, some breaking over the rock pier, temp dropped about 20 degrees in an hour after sundown. No fish caught by any of the brave souls i could see. Headed home at around 8pm. To thaw.

i was TOLD that the power plant had stopped discharging yesterday and the shad were gone....so if there's no shad, there's probably no walleye....just my opinion....but if there's TOO many, you probably won't catch them either.
