I launched out of edgewater today around 1:15 pm. As I was putting in I talked with someone who said it was "slow". I scratched my head on that one...
We went straight out from the launch ramp and set up in 35 ft of water. As soon as my brother let his line down he got a double header. The next fish turned out to be another doubleheader with one being 13.75"! We had our limit in 45 minutes with nothing under 9.5 inches. Best outing this year for perch. We were the only boat in the area....

Hope it holds out a little longer.

We were over by the Gold Coast and we got 35.....about 10 of them 12". It did seem to slow down after 12:00 and we left at 1:30. Cannot imagine limiting out in 45 minutes. Must have been a blast. I was just glad to get my new "Old Crestliner" out......what a beautiful day. Great job on the fishing.

Good for you Mirage! 72nd was a parking lot... on and off the water. I should of went off Edgewater instead but listened to the guy at the bait store. How was getting in at Edgewater? We waited an hour to get in at 72nd.

Over half an hour to launch or retrieve your boat is bad. Getting in and out was not a problem - had to wait a few minutes but that was it. Parking was a problem....lot was full! Had to improvise and park on the curb...still not that bad as it took me about 15 minutes to launch, park and walk back to the boat. Never launched out of 72nd.

Took a vac. day from work and took 3 of my buddies out fishing. I was out a week ago on Sun. and set a waypoint. We tried a few spots then headed for the waypoint. The closer we got, I told my buds...think those guys are where we want to be. Sure enough....I was in a 20' black and gray Starweld, 115 Mercury Optimax with Murcury 9.9 pro kicker. 4 guys in boat. Do you remember seeing us go by? Glad you guys did good. We tore em up there a week ago. We ended up limitting out as well, took us alot longer though. It was a great day to be on the water though!

I should have headed East that day. Launched out of Rocky River and tried 4 spots 35 to 45 fow around the mouth. Slowest all year. I did not see many guys around me doing that well and quite a few moved. No shortage of minnows in the water. Stopped around 12:30 came home cleaned the boat and road my bike to Lakewood Park. Off the Gold Coast was packed so I figured folks were doing pretty well there. Maybe some steel coming in the river with the forecast for the next week.

Monday I was out with my daughter. We did ok but never got into the big fish. Thursday when I was launching I saw lots of minnows swimming around the launch ramp. This made me think the baitfish and perch following the baitfish had to be in close.... when we went out and started looking at the fish finder we saw big "clouds" of baitfish and that's where we set up fishing. Not a lot of "perch" off the bottom but the baitfish and the minnows at the ramp were the key.

Seen two different boats gathering shiners close to the docks when I launched. Didn't put two an two together though. I figured it was a common occurance. I seen huge schools on my graph as well. We stopped one time and tried fishing them but had no success, so we moved on. I got some perch out by the crib, and 1 fish ohio @ 13 3/4" but most of out limit came by the East lighthouse in 36' of water. How long did you fish the schools before you got perch. We gave it 20 minutes before we moved on.
