Heard that the dam has a crack and needs repaired. Don't know when or for how long it will be empty. Any updates?

according to the ohio state parks they are draining deer creek starting oct 1st 2009 they emailed me on my facebook
I believe that's for Deer Creek Lake in southern Ohio.

I've got an email off to the Stark Parks Dept. for some kind of confirmation.
I'll post as soon as I hear something.

If its the one in Southern Ohio why is is being posted in the Northeast section?
I believe dmills is posting about Deer Creek Res. in Stark County.

Deer Creek Reservoir is not drawn down regularly like Deer Creek Lake near Mt. Sterling which is run by the Corp of Engineers.

The Deer Creek in Stark county is operated by the Stark Parks Dept. and provides water to Alliance.

Still waiting to hear from Stark Parks.

OK guys, got this reply back from the Stark Parks Dept. this morning.....

John,

Stark Parks has not been made aware of any plans to lower Deer Creek Reservoir later this year. We are in regular contact with the City of Alliance Water Dept. and have not received any notification from them at this time.

We have received a few emails asking this question, can you send me any websites where you have seen this listed? Is is possible that there could be some confusion with Deer Creek State Park in Mt. Sterling, Ohio?

Thanks for your inquiry and help.
