Wow - Being that this years crappie tournament was pushed back a little from last year due to the bad weather, it had all the makings for a big day. However, due to the weather this year not being consistant the crappie fishing was also tough. We did manage to get 10 keeper fish but we caught 7 of those in the first hour of the tournament and struggled the next few just to get 3 more keepers. All the fish we caught was very tight to cover and 8 out of our 10 keeper fish were black Crappie. Over all we finished in 5th place with 5LBs 19 ounces good for $100. Between 5th and 2nd place there was very little difference and 1st place was just over 6LBS. Over all it was a great day just to be out on the water and getting to place some faces with the names I have been trading emails with. For those that I didn't get to meet sorry.

NO! on a digital scale it's 5.19 lbs. 5.99 is just shy of 6 lbs. see? now - the scale measures in 100ths. so 5.50 would be 5 1/2 lbs.

i think he meant 5.19 pounds ;)
the scales weigh in 1/100ths pound.
and he beat ours by 1/100th for an extra 20 bucks.he musta breathed on the scale  :D ;)
nice going snyd :)
you're right,it was real close between a lot of us.

LOL.looks like dale was on it at the same time as me.he just types faster.
and he and carl were only .14 behind in 7th.

Dale - Thanks for clarifying the scales for me. I thought I was correct but was not sure how to answer tunnelengineer.
Misfit - Thanks - It looks like you was able to find them also being that you finished in front of me. Great Job!
Net - I can't speak for everyone else but we had no issues from our boat - everyone was very respectfull. I had a few boats asked if they could go by me and I said no problem. I also asked a few boats after they fished a section if it was ok for me to go in and fish it. I thought that the tournament was ran very well and those that competed were very respectfull.

Net we had NO issues at all. Next time come down and see how we run these and you'll see how good it was and why we are getting so many GOOD replys. Great bunch of anglers and a great bunch of members. Thanks again to all.

I think Net was joking :D
I don't know. Have you ever seen Misfit when he comes across a good hole that is holding the big fish and someone tries to move in on it? It's not something little ones should see. :D Sounds like it was a good time. My sister had to choose last weekend to get married so I had to miss the tourny again this year. Maybe next year.

Now here's what we were looking for: This is a 4 lb. crappie! I got this off Crappie .com I believe it was.

LOL terry.the only incident that came cklose was when we first got there.toad was pulling my boat to the ramp and flew ight be the coffee and donuts without stopping for me to get my morning fix.talk about discourteous:mad: :D
luckily chopiq fixed me up later with the on the water delivery service :)
and he also went above and beyond when we left our "spot" to try elsewhere for awhile.he could and should have moved in and probably increased his catch,as it was fair game then.but he passed it by in case we came back.now that is true sportsmanship and my hat's off to him :)

I liked it when the guy with the pontoon crashed into the dock you guys were fishing... Dale and I were having a GOOD laugh listening to that...

Wife: "Watch out honey!"

Husband: "I got it, I got it, WHAM!!!"

Wife to youngest kid: " Water wet, cold...careful!"

Kid: "WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL!!!! :D :D :D

Tournament was great. Thanks to everyone.

Actually I was serious...lol. I always try to keep you guys guessing. I got the answer I was looking for. Your multi-million dollar payout did not negatively affect anyone's behavior on the water ;) :D . Sounds like a great group of people to be associated with.

Dale, I wanted to fish the tourney but Misfit was already spoken for and Ying6 is coaching baseball on the weekends. As it turned out I had to go to work on Saturday anyhow.

WORK???? that's why they have sick days Terry!
Really, we had no problems we heard of at all. I think they were all glad it wasn't like last years tournament.

Rick,

I was laughing at the fish survey guy when he was trying to measure your fish. That sure was a long handled net he brought out to you guys.

I didn't think he would ever leave you alone. :D I know he was just trying to do his job but there should be some limits

I have pictures of that kim. WE laughed our butts off at them. Then the guy and his crash landing happened. Only to Misfit!!

#20 ·
i can draw them:rolleyes:
the fish guy asked if he could measure our fish and i told him if he could reach my boat, cayse i wasn't moving :D
that's why he walked down to get his net.then he decided he's gone far eneough and decided to only measure three :D
he was very apologetic for bothering us during the tourney, and i do appreciate those guys out doing their thing.
as for crash craddodock and the crew

Sounds like it was a good tourney. Wish I didn't have to be out of town this past weekend. Any of you guys planning on fishing the Crappie Classic tourney there this year? I think it is on 6/10/06. My uncle and I plan to fish it.
