Beside target practice and deer hunting, is there anything else that you use your cross-bow for ?

Fishing Regs:
ARCHERY ANGLERS may use bows of any weight pull. A fishing license is required. Longbows may be used to take bullfrogs, green frogs, snapping and softshell turtles, and forage fish. Crossbows may be used to take forage fish.

I heard that crossbows shoot clean thru fish and wastes an arrow ? Not a good idea ?

Crossbow bolts won’t sink any more than regular arrows, but since they’re shorter it can be a problem in deep muck. A regular arrow would usually be attached to a string, so you can always get them back. I don’t know if a crossbow bolt can be attached to a bowfishing reel or not, but if not that could be an issue.

it was a long time ago, but we used to shoot carp at mosquito lake with our crossbow(we only had one and took turns). clamped or maybe taped an old reel seat to the foot hold, a zebco 404 and a fishing arrow we cut off. we would unscrewed the limbs to ease the poundage and i dont remember losing any arrows. i remember it was a blast, but we were kids too and shooting carp was always fun back then, no matter what we were using.
