Cleveland night bite----good, but not good enough

headed out today with ezbite around 2:30 and ran out to our last spot that was good a few days ago.

I spotted an oddly familiar boat out there in the distance trying to "rape" my spot so to say...after further investigation it was determined that it was THE DONKEY!

Fishing started off good with our first walleye coming in the boat about 10 minutes after setting up lines, he hit a slider rig with meat.

After donkey was done stinking up my waters and jinxing my spot, we got serious and down to business.

Shortly after he left, we popped a good fish. No weight on it yet, and i dont even want to throw out "guesses" untill its official.

we ended the day going 4 for 5, 3 fish during the day and one at night. Its miserable, tough, boring and no fun at all out there now---its definitly dealing out alot of humble pie.

I know this fish isnt anywhere near what i need for derby cash, but hopefully its a small upgrade to the 8lber i have on the board now. Its going to take alot of dedication to get a solid program going.

I too graced mother Erie last nite and had the basic same results. Finished with 3 fish, two 5lbers and a 3, no derby fish. What a slow bite. Caught two fish in a period of 15 minutes and thought it was going to be on. Well it wasn't. Maybe get back out Sunday if mother nature permits. On a side note FINALLY caught my first harness eye, Thanks Het and Gary.

Nice work master George!!!!!! We did about the same lost a nice one coming into the boat, harnesses did good til sundown and then we switched to sticks and then.......................... no takers, so we called it a night early... the end. Fish seemed deeper for us anyway, Guess I'll have to get "The" dvd

I will echo more of the same...very slow night for me...got started late because I was busy perching, but put in a good 4-5 hours of trolling through excellent marks with only one 3.5lb dinner special in the boat. I've still yet to have a good day trolling and I hope this is not what it's like all the time!

All I caught was a blonde on a bud light. I was working the mouth of the river. First time getting the skunk this year. Lightman, it will get better. I didn't fish that hard, maybe put in 3.5 hours. It was a beautiful day out on the lake, but wish there was a little chop. George nice fish!!! Very semetrical.

same thing for us out there to.. 1 fish to the scale this morning that went 8.840. had 3 pullbacks 2 on the same harness but the worm was untouched i kinda feel they hit my inline weight but then shook the hook quick. great night out with bluemax and jiggen4eyes. nice talking with everyone else out there also.

Nada Walleye for my boat last night. First trip night trolling trip for me, definately interesting... Trolled through tons of marks, not one pull back. It's worth another shot!

I think we fished right by you last night night Got One, recognize the avatar. Were you prepping your rig in the auxillary lot at Edgewater around 6pm?

Ya Parma that was me. Het was with me for a couple hours and he said he thought that looked like brother b's old boat by us around 7pm. I'll give a shout next time I see ya out there. Was getting set up for a big night, but that never happened:(
