There is a very slim chance I will be headed out. More likely, I will be out tomorrow and Friday.

Man Buckeye is probably going to be on fire at first ice out with the way they HAVEN'T been biting on the ice.Sorry to hear of your unfortunate luck. What did the water clarity look like?

Hop after you left i drilled 2 more holes just west of the guys in front of you got 4 nice gills. Moved to there holes pulled 3 more out of those. but only hit when i was jigging on the drop.

Brian, I went to a couple of farm ponds today in southeastern Ohio with a friend, and ended up with two bass and several keeper gills up to 9.5 inches. I love Buckeye, but those farm ponds can sure spoil you at times. Glad you got into them after I left. I might hit Buckeye at least once next week before the ice gets bad. hop

In all sincerity there are 10 lb saueyes in Buckeye. My personal best was 10 lb 14 oz.There aren't a lot of them because they bite so well there, but there are some swimming around in there. Now is the best time to get them as they are pre spawn with eggs & chowing down for the chore.

The "stripers" are hybrids, more likely in the 3-8lb range. I'm sure there were plenty caught over 10 last year, but over 15 would be a very rare catch. State record currently is just over 17lbs. They won't wake up for a little bit yet.

I know their hybrids , and have caught a few in the lb.range you said, but you need to see the pic.of the one at bobs outdoor supply here in newark and you"ll see what i'm talken about, the guy that caught this one comes in about everyday and shoots the bs with all of us,he lives out at the lake down by capt.woodys bar.
