Nice fish , but you were suprised. Seems like we all catch the big fish of a different species when were fishing for something else. I don't know how many pike/catfish i've hit while walleye fishing. you think you got a new record until you get it close to the boat. Congrats and enjoy those fillets.

Thanks for the comments guys!...I appreciate it. That's an Xcalibur rattle bait hanging from it's mouth. I caught it fishing a ditch in a small cove in 10 fow. Sitting in 5 fow casting to 10 bringing the bait up the break. Weeds were about 3 foot off the bottom. I also noticed a few dead perch in the area, so maybe that's what he thought my rattle bait was.
