Does anybody use these? Like the kind you spray on your lures? Are they worth the money or is it mostly just technique? Thanks

I make my own and I am positive it works. But it only seems to work when used with plastics and buzzbaits (which I don't at all understand why). I have never seen any benifits to using it on crankbaits or spinnerbaits.
On plastics I put one drop on after every time I touch the bait with my hand. My theory is it masks the human scent. On buzzbaits I have no theory why it works. But I have proven to myself that it does.
I have twice been to Lake Erie on charters dragging spoons. When I took out my scent to put on my spoon everyone chuckled. A couple hours into the fishing they were requesting it on their lures.

I've thought about doing this for a long time but never have. Then I saw an article recently where it was suggested. Chum the area you're fishing for Bass with some nightcrawlers to get them fired up.

Yum F2 Shad spray... I like to soak my plastics in them in a zip loc bag. Fish with it for 15 minutes or so, and then swap it out with a fresh one.

Leabu... it works better with your plastics because it's able to seep into the pores better...

In my opinion it doesn't work. I've fished with a buddy using the exact same worm he uses attractant I don't . I catch just as many fish as he does. I don't see how any attractant can stay on the lure long enough once it gets wet. I do believe whatever Berkley puts in its power worms works. Fish seem to hold on to it a lot longer than plain rubber worms

I bought some Powerbait curly tail grubs yesterday. I split up the package to distribute between a couple of different tackleboxes. I took a good whiff into the pouch. Know what they smelled like? Plastic, slimey plastic or poly vinyl chloride. No fish is going to smell a human scent on these. What exactly attracts fish to plastic? A fishy scent may work, but typically, attractants catch more fisherman than fish.--Tim..................................................................................................................................

Gulp 8oz. spray shad scent.I use it religiously on all plastics, spinnerbaits and buzzbaits.I wouldn't even think of bass fishing without it.On Lake Erie the little bit of scent 30' down on a drop-shot bait makes all the difference in the world.I never leave the dock without my Costa Del Mars or my Gulp spray.Did anybody ever mention that bass fishermen are superstitious?

That's your opinion, and of course you are entitled to it, but think about this...

When you see food that looks good, do you want to eat it more because it looks good or because it smells good?

The fact is, fish locate food primarily through vibrations detected by their lateral line, and secondary by sight, and lastly by smell. The smell won't "attract" more fish to your lure, but when they bite it... it tastes like it's real, and they hold onto it longer, giving you more time to set the hook.

Added: Put a penny in your mouth. Tastes like metal right? Dip the penny in peanut butter, and then stick it in your mouth. Tastes like peanut butter, right? Same concept.

Ok try this . Put a penny in your mouth. Tastes like metal right? Spray the penny with fish attractant and dip it in the water a half a dozen times. I'll bet it still tastes like metal lol. Thats why I like power worms the scent and taste is built into the bait itself not just sprayed on the surface

LOL... that's why I soak mine in the spray in a Ziploc and change them out after every 15 minutes or so.

Disagree...they really DO work

I use The Original Fish Formula Crawfish III on my soft plastics and JignPigs.

Last Friday at Cutler Lake while targeting a male and female near their bed. And after fishing for them several times unsuccessfully. I sprayed some Crawfish III onto a soft plastic lizard and pulled the 14-3/4 inch male off of the bed. (Don't worry, I returned him immediately.)
And in 2009, about four casts after applying Crawfish III onto my black JignPig, I caught a 6-pounder out of a laydown at Burr Oak.
Would I have caught these without the scent? I don't know. All I know is... I caught them and several others over the years with the scent.
