I am familiar with John and his work. I own one of his rods, but it is not one of the Sage blanks. I have a custom made 5 wt on a Rainshadow blank and it has some nice custom touches such as a grizzly hackle feather epoxied on to the blank near the grip, it is signed and numbered. He has become a good friend, has extremely high standards for his rods. He has an extremely loyal client base overseas and will build a rod to any specifications.

I dont have one of johns rods but i do know who he is and have seen his works. I have seen quite a few of his rods and they are very nice. John s a good guy. He will treat ya right. A buddy fishes a good number of his rods, i think all sage from a trout rod to his spey rods. He is very happy with them.
