Good numbers being caught at the sugar camp area from the bank. Was told about it, went and checked tonight, 2 guys doing purty well, mostly smaller whites. Still a good way to fill a bucket.
Gonna head out there tommorrow afternoon.
The road is closed, best bet is park at the beach and take the trail to the pier.

i was kicking myself for not checking boeing, i never went to the ramps, although the water level didnt look that low. It was kinda dark, and running over the dam purty good. I did look, and didnt see any boats out.
When you get to the beach, park as far to the right(the south) in the lot you can, there is a trail down there somewhere, i believe its called "sugar bush, west shore" once you get down to the edge of the woods, look south toward the dam, you'll see a duck blind, and past that the pier.
Did see somebody fishin the duck blind, dunno how they did, i think its purty shallow there.
You can also park at the blue heron parking lot right next to the sugar camp, take the trail till it T's, take a left, and when you hit the paved road, follow it down the hill to the pier, its a litlle longer walk, and its uphill down hill, but easy walking.

both actually.
today was tough, slow bite. Quite a few out fishin(i think even some from on here), but nodoy caught much. I kept 6(which im eating now), and was there for about 3 hours. They are there, but were negative today. Coule guys runnin jigs caught 4 or 5 and gave up.
Hopefully they'll open the road now that the sap deal is over, its quite a hike out there.
Were quite a few boats out today, some on the large side, guessing the ramps are launchable now.

Fished from about 1pm or so until almost 330. Couldnt stand the cold any longer. I caught 1 and missed one on minnows about 4-6 feet deep. A fella gave me 5 so I kept my one. One of the ones he gave me was 11.5" and another over 10.5". I did see 2 fellas leave and each had I would say 30-50 a piece. I'm planning on going back mon and tues but in my crawdad. Hillbilly I had an orange sweatshirt and camo BPS hat on.

That was me Tommy, and by no means did you run me off, i had been there for ahwile, the fish had stopped biting altogether, and i was starting to get cold. Wish i had the magic answer so yall could have caught some fish.

Smallie, i was in the brown coat to your right. I dont hear all that well, but i thought i heard you talk about the whitewater river, and i had a hunch that was you. Im betting you'll do a bit better tommorrow/tuesday with the water warming up again a little, thats what got them started a week ago. Im also willing to bet if you were to push troll/slow troll 2 "capps/coleman" minnow rigs around that pier, you could probably do purty well on those crappies, especially if there still biting as light as they were saturday. That rig is a dead ringer for schooled up light biters.

Sorry if i mislead anybody about the fishin action there, i was there the day before, and the fella's on the end of the pier were catchin fish left and right, and missin more than they were hooking. Oh what difference a day can make.

bite was a bit slow at brookville lake(IN) tonight, not terrible, just slow. Id still hafta think the action should only pick up till the first couple days of cool weathers thats coming. No fronts that i have heard. I would think it would worth your time. Another thing, theres alot of people who fish there(pier at sugar camp), it dosnt take long for the pressure to catch up, so going early is your best bet.
Lemme know if your going for sure, i might give Brookville a break, and slide out there.

you didnt miss much at acton, few folks catching a few, nobody catching any real numbers. Both the dam and the sugar bush pier were packed today! nice weather brought out a bunch of fishermen.

Did mangage to catch 2 real nice LMbass today(17" and 19") after i got bored of the slow crappie action. Amazed at how shallow they were. seen them bust the top of the water one to many times, and i simply couldnt hold the bait caster back, like a hound dog on a hot **** track! Texas rigged Berkley 3"chigger craw in black and red flake.
