It's located off of Collegview and Cooper Rd, has anyone ever fished it? I live just a couple minutes away and was looking to take my two sons (13 and 6 yrs old). Any info would be much appreciated. I've only been fishing once in the last 2 years since my fishing buddy (my dad) passed away. We would fish together 3-4 times a week from the spring thaw thru fall. We don't have a boat anymore so just looking for someplace with easy access thats not crowded where my kids can have fun and I can reinterduce them back to fishing. Again any help would be great!!!

Otterbein lake. I fished it 2 years ago, caught 2 little dink largemouths on small crankbaits. Since then, the city has put over $500k into that place with refurbish, stocking, cleaning. Should be a good experience. 2 years ago the lake was very accessible to the edge of the water, wasnt very deep around the bank, didnt have a bunch of snags or grass, really seemed perfect for little kids. Also was empty of people fishing it, so go over there and GOOD LUCK TO THE KIDS!

Ben- I cant find info about the stocking either. Our local neighborhood newspaper mentioned it last year. the Westerville parks newsletter mentioned it also. But I cant find that info. There is plenty of info about the recontour and the planting of aqautic plants and the bank work, but nothing about the fish. google otterbein lake and you will find info about the college and a couple of groups that have done the work over there. (friends of alum watershed) and a couple of environmental groups. A pier and stone walkway were mentioned as additions. Are they there now? I havent been there in 2 years.

I drive by that place every day on my way to work. I always wondered if it was open to the public. Nice looking little pond. I always figured it was owned by Otterbein and reserved for research projects and such.

I just pulled it up on Google earth, and it looks like a very nice pond. I have a feeling I'll be checking it out sometime in the near future. Can't be any worse than any other public pond in central Ohio.

As far as I know, the only fish that has benn stocked in there yet is sunfish. The bass average about 10 in. but top out at 4 lb. There's also a few black crappie and BIG carp in there. Not much in the way of cats though. Just the usual shallow cranks spinners and worms work for bass. The south(?) bank thats overgrown is the deepest.

I bet it gets some more pressure now that its been posted here!!

Don't woory, I don't plan on makin the trip.
Myself and fellow OGF'er BolognaSandwich checked it out for a few hours before the storms rolled in yesterday. Unfortunately I was skunked and he caught 1 10" LM. It seems to be open water with no real cover or snags, so finding the bass maybe a bit of a challenge. I will definitely go back again sometime.
