Very cool, bet you were surprised. Caught a couple off Lorain in Lake Erie years ago and couldn’t believe what I was seeing.

 

I caught 3 in one night on Mosquito (while ice fishing) perhaps 7 years back.
I read that they cannot live in anything but the best water conditions, which speaks well to West Branch.

 

I caught one at WB probably roughly 25 years ago, brought it home and kept it in an aquarium for a month or six weeks, brought back to WB and released it.

 

Years ago I would walk the rocks after dark in October and November a long the westbranch dam fishing for crappie 🤫 ... I would see many mud pups.
