Awesome! Congrats on your Musky. I've been trying to get my first as well. I've been to Piedmont a few times and Salt Fork, but no luck. I'll just have to keep trying.

 

Thank you! It was definitely a grind but I’ve learned a few things along the way.

 

I call musky fishing 10 point buck fishing. You have to work for them. I’ve caught 3 a day and also have caught nothing for 3 months. Keep at it and always give it your best prior to a storm front approaching. I’d say 80% of my musky action is before a storm. It can be a wet experience so be prepared.

 

That's a very accurate comparison. Thankfully, I am used to the deer season grind so musky will fit right in haha. Thank you for the storm front tip!

 

Lake is dropping daily, be careful out there some stumps starting to show!!

About 4 to 5ft below summer pool, might be more now, haven't seen it since saturday!!

Theyre crazy to catch in a Yak. I got my first one in Ohio at WB too, just last year. 42-43"

Tried a few times this year in new yak no luck landing any, broken off a few times tho 🙏

 

Awesome fish! Yeah, the one I caught was pretty easy to handle. When I finally hook a big one it will be an absolute rodeo I'm sure.

Hit the branch today 1st time in 15 yrs!
Only 1 follow on a glidebait then one cartwheeled over the bait .prolly same fish.that was it for the day. One other said he had a follow .main lake is 73.
Never remem that long stringy weed being in there.pain in arse.

I was thinking of trying this weekend but I heard it’s opening weekend for duck hunting, would it be worth it with the low levels and this going on or better to just wait for another weekend?
