Fished Hoover from 5 am till around 2:30 pm. Fished the north pool which I’ve only fished a couple times before so I need to learn more about that area. Started dragging along the east side up to the first island and then went across to the west side and made my way back to the bridge. The bite was slow only four small fish three blues and one channel. The water is still so warm for late September and low. It was 72 at 5 am and almost 78 when I left. It was that warm at the end of June. According to the maps I use when I crossed from the island to the west side I should have been in anywhere from 12 to 19 fow. Never got above 10.5 all the way across. The shad were everywhere never seen so much shad. Could hear and feel them hitting the bottom of my kayak. With overtime at work and a home list I have I’m going to “ try “ and take break. But we all know how that is. That next trip is going to be the one where things change. We need rain and water temps to come down so the fall pattern can set in. A few pics from yesterday. The thermocline around the Sunbury bridge, one of the many bait clouds.
