Tadpoles work better in chop and stay more consistent in the water column. Inlines work better some days especially under 2' chop. I have/use both on my boat, but when it comes to crawlers, I primarily use the tadpoles.

I've been using the tadpoles the last 2 years and like them alot. Am able to get harnesses down deep with less line out. Also when making turns it is less likely the inside rods/baits will be dragging the bottom.

 

The bige.... You say you are able to get harnesses deeper with less line out. How do you KNOW they are deeper? Just how much deeper with the same size inline weight or ******* weight. I've heard this claim before and seen the charts, but I have not seen objective evidence. Thanks.

 

Drop a tadpole in ten feet of clear water and drop an in line and the same time. and there is your answer

They don't do anything any of the other diving weights do, but cost three times as much. If you can think of an advantage to using them, let me know.

I guess if I'm catching fish I believe them. No different than believing the dive chart on a Rapala lure or P10.

 

I understand believing in what is working. That's why I initially set my lines at various depths and let the fish tell me what is working, and I do so based on the charts......my question was based on your statement "they run deeper". Sounds like you don't have objective evidence, only the charts and the fact they work for you....which is good, but does not answer the question.
