My old neighbor and his girlfriend's son motored out the channel at 7:00 this morning and headed for Toussaint Reef where I fished last night for one hour and pulled 6. Had a great forecast 10 kts NW waves less than 1'........yeah right!! Tried to troll our way in but stiff NE winds kept pushing my bow so we cleared lines and ran up to troll down the north side of the reef. Boated 2 plus some junk so on our next run up we went just outside the NE corner of Crib and trolled downwind. Over the next 3 hrs we worked the 17' to 19' contours and boated 23 eyes and only 2 sheephead. Orange beads and purple/gold back blades did the best 30-45 back 1 oz. Speed was 1.4-1.5 on the terrova. What a fun day in spite of the blown forecast.
