Anyone have any luck using spray on attractant? If so what would you recommend?

Thanks :)

Garlic scent by Spike-It. Spray all my Bass Jigs with it. Wont make em bite it any better but will make mask your the odor from your hands and will get them to hold onto it longer. :~) Besides, if your boating buddy happens to have gas that day it makes a good air freshener. :)

We use a rub on deal called Fish Dope made by Punisher Jigs out of Celina TN. Not sure how the attractant aspect works, but it slicks a feather/hair jig down so it look like a dart in the water. EXTREMELY effective for winter Smallmouth, LM, and spots. Comes in garlic or shad, but I think the scent is secondary to how it effects the look/action of the jig.

From wiki:

Preparation H products come in a variety of formulations. Some are water based gel; some are petroleum jelly based. They range from simple moisturizers with witch-hazel astringent to preparations containing pharmacological ingredients such as phenylephrine, pramoxine and hydrocortisone. Some also contain ingredients of uncertain properties such as aloe vera, shark liver oil and yeast extract.[2] Formulations available also vary with country.

I think what I was told years ago about guys using it was due to the shark liver oil. I'll stick to Fish Dope ;)

Can you recharge your soft plastics in the pouch from season to season? Or doesn't that work? I thought I'd ask the attractant experts. Every time I get lost in the store I find myself in "sporting goods". I pick up one of the fish attractants and read the labels: "formulated for bass", "formulated for walleye", "formulated for catfish", then I notice the price, and put it back. I don't spend 1/3 of that for stir fry sauce..... Anyway, I do have a "Top Secret" classic recipe for attractant/scent mask passed down from angler to angler when I could afford Ontario fly-in camps. Just 3 ingredients: Cod liver oil, Garlic Powder and Salt. Simple! Thanks,--Tim.............................................................................................................................................................................................
